Read everything and experiment to find what works for you. And never let anyone you’re “doing it wrong”. Go with your gut. lol. It’s also not a bad idea to look into historical Christian customs, and even just Christian customs from other cultures, as they can be a great source of inspiration. I’d also suggest making sure to keep a journal of your research and experiences if you don’t already. :)

Words are now up for letters A-C. they can be seen here: http://practical-magick.tumblr.com/glossary
Please check it out and let me know if I've missed an important word. Words submitted should be ones that are either from another language, word with multiple meanings, or a word that often confuses those new to pagan religions. please submit them rather than send them to my inbox. Thank you. I’m even more out of it than I thought. Just glanced up to see the waning crescent moon. I was startled because I honestly thought it was still waxing. I don’t remember the full moon. Not when it was. Not if I acknowledged it. Nothing. I’m usually incredibly intoned to the lunar cycles.. Have been my whole life. I actually am on the verge of tears over this. I’m just so tired, and every inch of my body aches. And I’ve been like that for weeks. I have so much today. Sighs.

Monday evening my boss's cat gave birth to 5 kittens, right next to me. And my younger sister's due next week. And as a nanny, I'm definitely learning how difficult and yet wonderful caring for small beings is. The universe is definitely trying to show me something. While I'm not sure I'm ready just yet to be a mother myself, I am definitely contemplating becoming a midwife. :)

Sekhmet statue. My lover bought me this as a present. He lives over 2 hours away so this is his way of "keeping an eye on" me. Lol. It's also his way of protecting me. Like myself, Sekhmet has claimed him as her own, and he knows she'll protect me when he cannot. He's also hoping it will help with my terrible nightmares..
I am honestly so excited right now! I’m almost done with the initial glossary list! And it’s long, so very long. If you right each word in a notebook, one word per line, it’s almost 20 pages! And that’s just what we’re starting with! As I continue to read and learn new words (especially ones that are uncommon, or from other languages), I will update the glossary. Words honestly fascinate me! Me and my friends have put together “dictionaries” since we were kids. But obviously this has a much more practical reason than just being my obsession.
As you all know, the pagan blog project deals with one subject a week, alphabetically. For some letters finding a topic was beyond simple. But for others, it was near impossible to find a topic that was magickal, let alone one that even interested me. I sought out pagan glossary after pagan glossary, even flipped through a few pagan encyclopedias and sometimes it just didn’t help at all. I’d be able to come up with one iffy topic, when I knew I’d have to do it all a second week before moving on to the next (hopefully) easier letter. Half the problem was how limited these glossaries were. If I was lucky, they’d have a few hundred words. Most contained only english words, or words pertaining to only one type of paganism/wicca. My goal is to create one of the most comprehensive pagan glossaries available. Currently it contains definitions from multiple traditions (including celtic, kemetic, gardnerian wicca, and corellian wicca), languages (Irish, Welsh, Greek, and Egyptian, among others), and era of usage. While the words are for the present time going to be just words I come across, I hope others will assist in it’s evolution. :) Also, I’m hoping to link up the blog with a sort of website archive. I have to check a few things out, but if it happens the site will be practical-magick.webs.com. I’ll make an announcement if/when it’s up and running! Happy Independence Day to all the American Pagans! I have a weird problem. When I go to church, naturally there is gospel music. The problem is my brain rewrites all the songs in the glorious name of Sekhmet. And I secretly really want to steal the hymnal and rewrite all of the songs and then use them as part of my rituals. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
Welcome to July!
